For intensive vehicle inspection, an LED tunnel is a specialized solution. Instead of providing light only from the ceiling, a controlled lighting environment is created around the vehicle.

LIGHT QUALITY
CRI and color rendering in detailing
CRI stands for Color Rendering Index and indicates how faithfully colors are rendered by a light source.
When detailing, you work with paint, plastic, foil and coatings. Good color rendering can therefore be important when color and finish need to be accurately assessed.
The current LED Tunnel System from HexagonLED has a specified CRI of >90.
6500K LED LIGHTING
What color temperature is suitable for detailing?
The color temperature is expressed in Kelvin. HexagonLED uses 6500K for the Hexagon LED systems. This provides a clear, cool white light that fits well with a professional automotive environment.
However, color temperature alone does not determine how well paint defects are visible. CRI, light intensity, light position, reflections and the properties of the vehicle surface also play an important role.
